【摘要】:Theseproceduresshouldbeusedtotesttopicalantimicrobial-containingpreparationsthatareintendedtobefast-actingandtoreducesignificantlythenumberoforganismsonintactskinimmediatelyand,forpreoperativeandprecatheterizationpreparations,tomaintainreductionsforanextendedtime.1.1Thetestmethodisdesignedtomeasurethereductionoftheresidentmicrobialfloraoftheskin.1.2Aknowledgeofmicrobiologicaltechniquesisrequiredfortheseprocedures.1.3Inthistestmethod,metricunitsareusedforallapplicationsexceptforlinearmeasure,inwhichcaseinchesareused,andmetricunitsfollowinparentheses.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.5Performanceofthisprocedurerequiresaknowledgeosregulationspertainingtotheprotectionofhumansubjects(1).
